Legal Counsel - Disputes Regulatory
Our client, an international sports governing body, is seeking a Disputes Regulatory Legal Counsel to join their Legal and Compliance team in Miami, FL.The candidate will play a pivotal role in the efficient and effective running of the organizations disputes before Tribunal. This position reports directly into and works closely with the Team Lead of Disputes.
Responsibilities:

• Handle labor disputes in relation to the sporting federation, in front of their Tribunal, including disputes between players and clubs, coaches and clubs or associations, and disputes in connection with the transfer of players.
• Interpreting players' employment and transfer-related contracts and preparing case files for decision by the members of the Tribunal, taking into account existing Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) jurisprudence.
• Efficiently and effectively handle procedures regarding matters pending before the Players' Status Chamber of the Tribunal including:
• The protection of minors.
• Player registration and international transfers.
• Change of association and eligibility of players to play for national teams.
• Release and late return matters.
• Giving written and/or oral advice on the regulations as well as on general legal issues to players, clubs, member associations, agents, legal advisors, etc.
• Supporting the Litigation Department when needed within the scope of appeals lodged against the organizations decisions before CAS.
  Experience and Education:
  • 2 - 5 years of legal experience, preferably within an international environment.
  • University degree in Law.
  • Legal experience in a sports-related environment is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and either French/Spanish/German is a must.
