Job DescriptionQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:

  • A minimum of two (2) years proven knowledge of or familiarity with IRSC Programs;
  • Strong background and proven success in recruitment, retention, completion and job placement;
  • Proven skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications;
  • Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail oriented;
  • Ability to be well organized;
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written;
  • Valid Florida driver's license;
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated;
  • Ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with diverse populations including students, faculty, staff, supervisors/administrators, and members of the community;
  • Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree is preferred.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
    • Assist with recruitment and retention of students;
    • Assist in recruitment activities for all instructional disciplines that fall under the Business division in all four (4) counties including providing on campus tours;
    • Possess working knowledge of the college's web-based learning management system;
    • Assist with linking students to on campus and community resources as needed to promote student success;
    • Assist with community reach out initiatives.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
      • Conduct assessments, eligibility, and student registration for appropriate placement;
      • Determine the needs for support services;
      • Assist students (whose programs fall under the Business division) with financial aid, transcript audits, and job placement opportunities in coordination with Career and Transfer Services;
      • Provide weekly updates to staff, faculty, and administrators regarding specific recruitment and retention activities;
      • Provide analytical data regarding recruitment, retention, completion, and job replacement for students;
      • Deliver presentations through the effective use of technology;
      • Prepare memos, e-mail, and telephone referrals to assist in communication within the department and community;
      • Track and report College Career Certificates and Industry Certificates;
      • Assist with recruitment, especially in High Schools;
      • Complete other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Physical skills required include the ability to lift heavy boxes and materials, to move equipment from room to room, and to work for extended periods at a computer station. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
